Admissions Overview
UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Admission Criteria:
New Incoming Students
Students who are newly admitted to UNC Charlotte and are interested in the Sports Analytics degree program must contact University Admissions to request a change of major.
Current UNC Charlotte Students
Current UNC Charlotte students who wish to change their major to Sports Analytics must meet the following criteria:
- Be in good academic standing at the university.
- Have no more than two failed attempts (grades of F or D, depending on the course) in any required course for the program.
Freshman Admission Checklist
- Online Application: Submit via Future 49er or Common App.
- Application Fee: $75 or approved fee waiver.
- Official High School Transcript: Grades 9-11; final transcript required before enrollment.
- SAT/ACT Scores: Optional but encouraged.
International Credentials: Provide translated/evaluated documents if applicable.
Evaluation Criteria
- High School Academic Performance: GPA (middle 50% range: 3.7-4.3), required courses (English, Math, Science, History/Social Studies, Foreign Language).
- Senior Year Courses: Include advanced coursework in English, Math, Science, and Languages.
- Test Scores: SAT (middle 50%: 1540-1770) or ACT (middle 50%: 22-27).
Transfer Admission Checklist
- Application & Fee: $60.
- College Transcripts: Submit from all attended institutions.
- High School Transcript: Required for applicants under 21.
- Minimum College Coursework: 24 transferable semester hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Good Standing: Must be eligible to return to the last institution attended.
International Credentials: Submit “course-by-course” evaluations if applicable.
Internal Transfers (Within UNC Charlotte)
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.0.
